Will the hidden secrets ever be unearthed?

Our campaign is all about raising awareness of the Monroe County History Center - something more than just an old building by Kirkwood Road, and something more than just a museum that many residents of Bloomington didn’t even know about. We want the audiences of this campaign to know that learning about the past shouldn’t just be about memorizing meaningless facts, unknown names, and blanking out from reading history textbooks - rather, they can be a part of the story that’s less boring to them (or future history book readers) by contributing to identify the people and events of the Herald Times pictures archived by the Monroe County History Center.

Magazine Print

We wanted our audience to know that they can make a contribution to identifying and unearthing the stories of the photos from the MCHS picture archive. The magazine print featuring contestants and/or winners of the Miss Monroe County Fair Queen Contest along with relatable humorous captions will attract our target audience to come by the MCHS. We plan to put this advertisement on local Bloomington magazines. Heck, who knows, maybe this magazine print could also end up in hair & beauty magazines people read while getting their hair done in salons.

Newspaper Ad

This medium is perfect to reach out to our main target audience who still enjoys reading newspapers as they sit in their rocking chairs. With captions that question the identities of the people in the pictures, these Newspaper advertisements will entice our target audience to get up and pay MCHS a visit.

Flyers

With easy-to-read information written on the flyer that can be posted in local coffee shops, restaurants, bowling alleys, or be given out to people passing by Kirkwood Road, and a QR code to scan if you didn’t bother typing out their website, this flyer also attracts audiences beyond the age group of our target who may be able to forward this message to their grannies.

And if you’re not really into sports, are you really going to say no to free coffee and donuts?

Email Ad

This medium is one of the most widespread to reach our target audience. We want to catch their attention as they scroll through a constant stream of boring emails, and maybe this one-minute read will lighten up their day just a little bit.

Instagram Ad

Remember “siblings or dating”? This is probably a good way to teach your parents and grannies about internet trends. This Instagram sponsored advertisement is meant to attract our target audience that use Instagram or the younger generation that could tell their grannies about it. Incorporating the “siblings or dating” trend and mildly creepy, funny, or just plain stupid pictures from the MCHS archive, this would surely stop any viewers from scrolling further for even just a brief moment.

Facebook Ad

One of the things we know our target audience is enticed by is celebrating America’s freedom, and the people that fought for it. With Facebook as one of the more popular social mediums for our not-so tech savvy audience, these Facebook advertisements will surely grab their attention, especially when campaigned during Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Veterans’ Day.
