I am a fresh graduate of Indiana University Bloomington with a Bachelor of Arts in Media, with a major in Media Advertising. In all my years, including the time I have spent in an international university with a 6 or 7-digit number of students, I still haven’t met another person named Alesta in real life, nor have I found a shot glass with my name printed on it. I’ll confidently bet $50 that it will still be this way in 10 years time.

One of the things you’ll get to know about me that my friends can vouch for, is that I tend to get very invested at the things I enjoy. Most of my non-artist friends can’t relate to me being able to keep my eyes peeled on Photoshop or Procreate hunting down and erasing sketch marks that are like 2 pixels in size for 4 hours at a time. But no, that still doesn’t justify the 25+ hours a week I spend playing “gacha” games.

Despite having studied in Media Advertising, I still think I have much room for improvement on verbal communication. There is no “Delete” button in real life to take back what’s said, and there is no “Refresh” button in real life when words I’m trying to speak are still loading in my brain. So when I started livestreaming on popular streaming platforms, I was pretty much (willingly) forced to get out of my shell…and just talk, about anything that comes to mind (that doesn’t get me demonetized, of course), even if they make as much sense as insulin costing more than $1000 a month. But hey, at the very least I now get slightly less anxious when talking in public settings.
